About the role

Currently, we are looking for a top Technical Operations Specialist for our key client, a UK-based company that is a major innovation-driven and straight-talking telephony provider to wholesale, enterprise, reseller and businesses in the UK and USA. With over 27 years of experience, they are committed to transparency and fairness, advocating for an open telecommunications marketplace that prioritises their customers' interests. Their close-knit team is primarily based in the UK, with a few members joining them from other parts of the world.
We are looking for a Technical Operations Specialist who will be working in the heart of our client company’s operations, handling support, numbering, and porting tasks.

Your duties

As a Technical Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for:

- Working directly with customers, telecom engineers, and IT teams to troubleshoot issues and keep things running smoothly
- Using Zendesk, customer portal, and SIP signaling tools
- Troubleshooting why calls may be failing, calling numbers on and off-net, and from various providers to pinpoint a problem
- Triaging phone calls and tickets, pointing people to client’s status pages for updates, and adding call examples to a matrix, in case of an outage on the platform
- Helping diagnose and fix both internal and external faults
- Initially assisting customers and other providers over email advancing to telephone calls when ready
- Supporting the day-to-day operations of their telecommunications network
- Stepping in with emergency assistance and technical recovery when something impacts the network’s availability or service quality

Requirements

- 6 months to 1.5 years of experience as an IT Support or Technical Operations Specialist
- Knowledge of VoIP, SIP, RTP, and PBXs
- Strong desire to learn, grow, and improve in your role
- Deep appreciation for technology
- Self-starter attitude with great troubleshooting skills, able to prioritise and manage your workload effectively
- English language upper intermediate (B2) is a must

Nice to have:

- Knowledge of other languages
