About the role

Currently, we are looking for a top Senior React Native Developer for our key client, a London-based company, which is a startup dedicated to shifting power from big tech giants back to the users, empowering them to take control of their own data. They are passionate about creating a user-centric data market, where individuals decide who can access their data and when, allowing them to actively participate in a multi-billion dollar industry and claim their share of its value. Their mission-driven approach is rooted in the belief that data, when managed by the users, can greatly benefit them. Our client company operates across both the UK and the EU with a small, diverse, and entirely remote team. They offer two main products for their B2C users: a mobile application and a browser extension.

Your duties

As a Senior React Native developer, you will be responsible for:

- Mobile Application Development: You will work on their mobile application, leading the effort to rewrite the current app using the latest version of React Native with Expo.
- Architectural Decision-Making: You will have some decisional power, prioritizing tasks and shaping the product’s architecture. Your input will be helpful in determining the direction of the app’s development.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: You will collaborate closely with their head of marketing and tech lead, ensuring alignment between technical implementation and business goals.
- Autonomous Work: You are expected to be able to work independently, managing your tasks effectively while knowing when to consult with others for plan reviews or implementation adjustments.
- Promoting Standards: You will be responsible for recognizing when to advocate for and implement development standards to ensure consistency, quality, and maintainability across the project.
- End-to-End Feature Integration: You will be responsible for completing feature integrations from start to finish, including both the mobile application and backend components, if necessary.
- Adaptability: You must be comfortable working outside of your comfort zone, tackling new challenges, and learning new skills as needed to meet project goals.

Requirements

- At least 5 years of experience as a React Native developer
- Experience in setting up Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) and test pipelines
- Experience in developing native apps for Android and iOS platforms
- Practical experience with Expo framework
- Good understanding of AWS concepts, particularly services like Lambda, ECS, and API Gateway work
- Ability to build complete applications from start to finish
- A background or strong interest in Big Data is highly valued
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, like Computer Science or Engineering
- English language upper intermediate (B2) is a must
