About the role

Currently, we are looking for a Director of Engineering for our key client, New York-based AI firm, which is transforming the BIM modeling space, helping Architects and Engineers save time through a user-friendly platform tailored for North America. The company focuses on automating repetitive tasks in design workflows, using advanced integrations with Revit software to optimize patterns in floor and site plans. With a strong emphasis on transparency, creativity, and collaboration, this startup is expanding rapidly. We’re looking for a Director of Engineering to help drive innovation, with opportunities for long-term growth and development as the company scales.

Your duties

As a Director of Engineering, you will be responsible for:

Revit Integration:

- Leading the extraction and integration of data from Revit files using Autodesk APIs.
- Ensuring smooth manipulation and optimization of Revit files for new projects.

Platform Development:

- Developing and maintaining software platforms, focusing on BIM and Revit integration.
- Collaborating on future features to enhance platform functionality and user experience.

Team Building:

- Creating and leading a high-performing development team, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
- Mentoring and supporting junior developers, providing guidance and leadership.

Project Ownership:

- Taking ownership of the development lifecycle, from planning to deployment, ensuring reliable Revit integration.

Continuous Learning:

- Staying up-to-date with the latest developments in BIM modeling, Revit, and AI technologies, integrating new insights into the platform.

Requirements

- 8+ years of experience in the relevant field
- 5+ years of experience with AutoCAD and working with DWG files
- 5+ years of experience in .NET (C#) development, specifically in building integrations and working on Revit’s .NET API.
- At least 5 years of experience specifically with Revit, ideally including experience with Revit 2023.
- 5+ years of experience in the BIM modeling space or similar industries.
- Deep understanding of 3D objects, site plans, and floor plans.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor junior developers, with a vision for building and managing a high-performing team.
- English language proficiency (B2 level) is a must

Nice to have:
- Experience working in a startup environment
- Experience in AI/ML-based technologies
